Tiger's eye is a mineral belonging to the group silicas. Besides quartz it contains the ingrown threads of gold brown riebeckitasbest. The asbestos do not make these stones hazardous to health. They are often used in jewelry or ornaments.
A similar stone called Scout is very similar buildup but has a bluish color.
Is also common in stone healing then usually in tumbled form. Localities include in Western Australia, Burma and India.
